2008 Village Hall Coffee Morning
On Friday, 6th June a coffee morning was held at Kings Hay to raise funds for the Village Hall.  John and Elizabeth Barkle hosted in excess of 70 visitors during the morning and thanks to them, their son and a few of their hard-working friends, the event raised the grand sum of £325.

Good weather helped to swell the turnout for this fund-raising event.  As well as coffee and biscuits, a number of other activities had been organised which included a bring and buy sale, a plant sale and a raffle.

The Village Hall Committee would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came, especially to those who donated to the bring and buy and those who gave prizes for the raffle.  The Committee would also like to thank those people who could not be there on the day but who made donations towards this very worthy cause.

A special vote of thanks is also given to John and Elizabeth for opening their home and garden to us all, to their son Richard, who manned the gate, and to Margaret Halsam, Sue Storey, Jan Fisher and Denise Hoogesteger who helped run the various activities on the day.  The event would not have been the success it proved to be without the hard work of our hosts, their family and a few of their many friends.
