New Gates for St Lawrence Church

Many of you will have noticed the handsome new gates, now set back a little to allow some car parking.  The gates were given by the Gibb family and Francis Hole in memory of Douglas and Bridget Gibb who worshipped at St Lawrence over a number of years and had a great love of the church and of the parish it served.

One of the first tasks that Paula had to undertake in her new ministry was the dedication of these gates and this was undertaken after her first service with us in the presence of the Gibb family, Francis Hole and members of the congregation.  Paula used Psalm 121 in her dedication because it reminded us of the hills beneath which we live, and that we would be “going out and coming in” through the gates during the years to come.                                            M.M. 25/7/2010
