Staplehay, on the outskirts of Taunton, comes under the jurisdiction of Trull Parish Council. Like ourselves Trull PC had purchased the phone kiosk from BT.

Staplehay, on the outskirts of Taunton, comes under the jurisdiction of Trull Parish Council. Like ourselves Trull PC had purchased the phone kiosk from BT and Councillor Don Archer then converted it into a combined book exchange and information centre.

The opening ceremony was attended by some forty villagers, press representatives and councillors from Taunton Deane District Council and Somerset County Council.

Parish Chairman Jo Woolridge gave an opening address. Janet then described how the idea of an exchange had come to her and read her children's story “The Lonely Telephone Box” which very aptly details the sequence of events. Bob exchanged a book from our own kiosk and cut the ribbon to declare the new kiosk open.

Afterwards as part of the Parish Council’s AGM, Bob gave a short description of our own activities and the media attention that was generated.

A super event which was enjoyed by Janet and Bob, and we believe the people of Trull and Staplehay.
