Malcolm
Harding and a band of loyal helpers spent several days putting up
the Barn Extension, sweeping and laying out the carpet as well as
putting up the decorations.
Barbecues
were fetched and food bought and the bar stocked.
The weather was hesitant but kind in the end.

The
Back Room Band arrived and set up and 80 people were on hand to
enjoy the evening. The dancing was brilliant fun and the bar did a roaring trade
especially on the soft drinks for the energetic dancers.
The
caller was his usual enthusiastic self and had many of the more
reluctant dancers on the floor.
The BBQs ensured that everyone was well fed and a special
thank you is due to the cooks and tenders of the fires.
Sunday
morning saw everything cleared up and put away.
Thank you to all those who continue to house the various bits
of Friendly Society kit we used, especially Mick Fletcher, Malcolm
Harding and Mike Love. Thank
you to Malcolm for providing the venue – it seems very appropriate
to have a Barn Dance in a Barn! |
