Very
many thanks for making Sunday’s presentations go successfully, I
thought the atmosphere was very happy and relaxed (as well as being a
tad on the warm side!) I do hope you all enjoyed the competition
experience as much as I did. As
requested by several people, please find attached the judges notes I
read out on the day, which gives you an indication of what impressed the
judges in each category. If
you want to raise any specific points from this please feel free to
email me or phone for a chat. I will be happy to help. I
hope you have decided where to display your successes and here’s to
many more in the future for your village! Kind
regards, Katy

There was great excitement amongst the six Somerset finalists in the Calor Village of the Year Competition, Westbury-sub-Mendip being one the selected villages. After a delicious cream tea, tension mounted as Katy Calvert from the Community Council for Somerset enthused about the high standard of presentations from each of the six finalists in the competition. She introduced Malcolm Beecham from the Marketing division of Calor who distributed the awards. Westbury-sub-Mendip swept the board with three awards:-
This represents a huge achievement for our village and Sue Caola deserves a big round of applause as she prepares to take us into the next round of this National Competition.
