A gloriously sunny day
attracted more than 300 people to bring picnics to the village
playing field for this, the last major public event of the present
Friendly Society.
Continuous entertainment
was provided from 1.00 p.m. by local artistes Neil and Hannah Burrows,
More
Silage and Once Under, punctuated by humorous interludes from
master of ceremonies John Barkle (right). For the last hour and twenty
minutes, the Wurzels more than lived up to their reputation, and had
the audience singing and dancing along until the end of the
afternoon.
The Friendly Society
would like to thank everyone who helped to make this such a
memorable afternoon - the performers, those who helped to put up the
stage and marquees, and to all who bought raffle tickets, which
raised £333.00 in aid of the Red Cross Sudan Emergency Appeal
