For the second year running, the Church Fete
took place during the afternoon, adding significantly to the number
of attractions on the playing field, which incuded a
range of well stocked Church Fete stalls, a display of vintage cars,
bungee run, skittles, hoop-la, coconut shy, tombola, zippy dipper,
bouncy castle, egg throwing competition, tea tent and a licensed bar
run by Neil Burrows.

COMPETITION RESULTS
As
usual, Club Day was advertised in advance by posters produced by the
children of the village school in the annual competition for the
Molly Tyley Shield, won this year by Grace Murray. Prizes in the
different classes went to:
Holly Class: 1st
Niamh Kennedy, 2nd Madeline White, 3rd Peter Mooney.
Lime Class: 1st
Grace Murray, 2nd Harry Seward, 3rd= Isobel Mulready & Sam
Harris.
Oak Class:
1st Darcey Thompson, 2nd Emily Owen, 3rd= Imogen Mulready &
Olivia Powell.

| The
sun shone as club
members and fancy
dress entrants assembled at the Old Vicarage. Rain started just
as the parade through the village was moving off, led by the Wells City Band,
but had cleared up by the time everyone arrive at the Westbury Inn,
where the fancy dress prizes were awarded by Mr and Mrs Ken Banwell

After the roll call
of members at the Westbury Inn, the parade continued to St Lawrence
Church, where the traditional Club Day service was presided over by
lay reader Hilary Daniel.
